We present a genome assembly from an individual male Platypus cylindrus (the oak pinhole borer; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Curculionidae). The genome sequence is 147.5 megabases in span.

Most of the assembly is scaffolded into Sofa Table 8 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 19.29 kilobases in length.

Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 13,468 Sanitizer Dispensers protein coding genes.
